Sometimes you take the simplest things for granite. For example, the materials that you own; i.e. your bike, house, car. Or maybe your family and/or friends. The biggest really for me, lately is life. Life is truly short, and, in my opinion, it doesn’t really hit you until events start happening around you that makes you stop and think. For me, the past month has impacted my outlook. First was a fraternity brother from college being diagnosed with cancer and the second was a co-worker, who was about 12-13 years younger than me, passing away suddenly in his sleep. It has been a true eye opener. You only get one shot at life. It is comforting knowing that family, friends, co-workers all come together in times of need to help those who need it most. Both, above friend and co-worker that I mentioned, have a ‘go fund me’ account and the amount of people who are helping and supporting them is astonishing. So the moral of this is; life is short so surround yourself with those who complete your life, support your ideas (no matter how stupid or lame it is) and to do the things that you love to do in life.
