Like to share some data from local racing when it was at its prime here in Northern Nevada. When record large turnouts where happening. Which was 2005, and we had four series a year. A spring series which had Stead, Fernley, Carson and Lovelock. The largest turn out for that series was 446 at Fernley, that OTMX held. It was a nine-race series with a total racer count of 3,029. It would've been a ten race series but a round was cancelled due to weather.
The summer series was all night-based races that were at Stead, Carson and Fallon. The largest turn out for a night race in the series was 373 at Carson (Silver State Raceway) The night race series was 8 rounds of summer fun! The total racer count of 2592.
Fall series brought all the tracks back for the series listed in the Spring. The largest race of the series was 462! The Fall series was shorter, it was only 7 races. The total racer count was 2141.
Winter brought in the shortest series with 5 rounds. Only Fernley and Stead was used and the last race of the series was 11/13. There was one scheduled for 12/4 but mother nature had other plans. The largest turn out was 371, which was OTHG at Fernley. This short series racer count was 1600.
Back then the total card caring rider base was 974 at the end of October 2005.
Thought I’d share some info. Thirteen years ago, but still great info.
